I prefer a slower pace, I like to build my base and plan defenses... you definitely need to have an overall strategy here that spans beginning, middle and end of the game but it's much less fun than the old C&C: Tiberian Sun I think.
And damn I hate superweapons.

In a way this one kind of makes sense though, a smart player might also try to get something down there to kill an engineer or two.
