The trailer is cool but does anyone think that the whole story bit is unnecessary? I mean if they just came out with a trailer that touted the new features would it sell fewer copies? It's not like their target audience cares about the story.

But then again maybe that's it - the trailer is aimed at people who hadn't already signed off on buying the game. People who want a story (no matter how paper thin)

Rein: We always aim Unreal for systems that people donÃ¢Â€Â™t have yet. (laughs) Whether its UT or any Unreal game, so I think the sweet spot has yet to show up. Again, itÃ¢Â€Â™s 64-bit and a ton of RAM, like an NVIDIA dual 8800s and Core 2 Extreme Quad processorÃ¢Â€Â”you could certainly build a super rig, but UT3 with everything turned up all the way is still going to struggle on that kind of thing

Anyone else really dislike graphics engines which aim for tomorrow, rather than today?

While it's cool that suddenly some older games now look better when one upgrades one's hardware, I much rather be able to play new games at max details smoothly the day they get released (assuming I had a state-of-the-art system).

If two 8800GTXs with a Core 2 can't handle Unreal Engine 3 at max details and a high resolution, then that's some f***ed up sh*t, imho.

I think it's interesting that they have changed the name, distancing it from the 2k series. It even has a similar UT intro (no I will not call it UT 99).
