BioShock to See June 2007 Release
by Chris Remo, Jan 04, 2007 7:15pm PSTDespite being revealed several weeks ago, we--along with much of the rest of the internets--failed to spot what we've now confirmed is an official confirmation of a release period for Irrational Games' upcoming BioShock, frequently dubbed the spiritual successor to System Shock 2. It looks like the game is coming out in June 2007, according to internet posts made last month on Shacknews and elsewhere by publisher 2K Games' community manager Elizabeth Tobey, who noted that June 2007 is "the official word." 1UP also reported on the news today, referring to the representative as "2K Kimberly." When contacted by Shacknews to comment on the matter, Tobey responded, "lol why is my name kimberly according to 1UP?" BioShock is currently slated for release on Xbox 360 and PC.

Me, I'm thinking I'll go the 360 route. There's no multiplayer that I'm aware of (though co-op like in SS2 would be a wonderful surprise) so that doesn't factor in. I'd just prefer to play it at smooth framerates and on a big screen in the dark, which I can't count on my laptop to do for me these days.

Put me in space, not underwater. I'm sure Bioshock will have it's moments but top System Shock 2? I doubt it.
