More TRIBES Extreme

GameCenter has a bit of coverage on the TRIBES Extreme announcement that was made by Dynamix a couple of days ago. It's TRIBES.. but with enhancements to the gameplay and a single player portion of the game. Ok? Make sure and check out the new screenshots too: shot1 shot2 shot3 and shot4

Tribes Extreme offers a cohesive single-player experience. Some of the single-player-focused features are new training missions, which help Tribes newcomers learn the skills they need for online play; AI warriors and Synthralls, which may be used to fulfill military roles in times of emergency; and an entirely new multichapter campaign. The multichapter campaign is a three-part battle encompassing many missions that pits the player against the Grievers, a force of piratical scavengers that has wiped out the player's local tribe family. Each mission has a specific goal that fits into the overall campaign objective.

Also, the man loony fired up a couple of questions asking for some more clarification on just what TRIBES Extreme is:

Q: I'm a bit confused by the announcement about TRIBES Extreme. Can you quickly explain how it differs from TRIBES 2?

A: Tribes Extreme differs from Tribes 2 in several ways - Tribes Extreme is based on the Tribes 1 engine; Tribes 1 clients can connect to Tribes Extreme servers and vice versa. Tribes 2 has an entirely new engine, rearchitected for a hardware-only world, with more vehicles, terrain hazards, weather and water. Tribes Extreme is like Tribes 1 with a single-player mission pack, a multi-player mission pack and enhanced bots. Tribes 2 will be a true sequel.

TRIBES Extreme seems to me about as much of a scam as Windows 98SE honestly. I mean wtf is this?
