Prey to be Delivered Via Steam
by Chris Remo, Nov 29, 2006 2:09pm PSTAccording to a short news blurb on the official Steam site, Human Head and 3D Realms' Prey will be available on Steam as of tomorrow, November 30. It will run $49.95. Unlike most non-Valve games distributed through the service, Prey will allow Steam activation by way of a product key from a previously purchased copy of the game, either retail or downloaded. Prey is not the first product from publisher 2K Games to come to Steam, though its arrival on the service is slightly surprising given the less than favorable attitude towards Valve's service that has been espoused by 3D Realms, most recently from company head Scott Miller.

Given the recent disaster with Triton I would tend to laugh off Scott Miller's value judgment on any DD service.
BTW, how does Valve's continued in-house ownership of STEAM constitute a "conflict of interest"?

Don't know why this can't happen (though it's not as easy as adding a activation code).

But as long as I have the original, I consider it preferable to use the version that doesn't require me to run Steam in the background.
I think that's a first. Sort of like getting a second license for free.

Any previous Triton customers received their boxed copy of Prey yet? (Not I.)

This is cool though. I'll look to get this after the first.
