FREE GAME BLOWOUT

I'm moving soon and taking this opportunity to clear out my closet. I want these games to go to good homes where they'll be played, not trade them in for $0.25 at GameStop or have them collect dust for the next 20 years at the Goodwill. I've grouped them into themed blocks... you have to claim an entire block, no picking and choosing individual titles. I've included what manuals I have, but make no promises for any given title. Each block is FREE, you just pay $5 shipping per block. Shackers outside the US can get in on the action, but it's $15 per block.

Conditions: Maximum of 2 blocks per shacker per day. Must have registered at least 6mo ago and have at least 1000 posts. Reply to this thread with your choices and I'll SM you payment details.

Need for Speed: Carbon Menz

You know its funny that shackers are obsessed with acronyms for games.. NFS for Need for Speed, GOW for Gears of War and such. But the shack search will not accept those acronyms as valid search terms.. which makes it impossible to search for someone else talking about your specific question... that makes me a sad panda.

Anyway, I have successfully taken over the Ricer, Mucle and Exotic zones and have opened the new Red Stacked Deck zone. I have beat 2 out of 3 of the racewars. I am using a maxed out Tier 2 Mazda RX7. I am simply out classed on the 3rd racewar and in the Red zone. I can keep up in corners and over take a few cars but in straight aways they just blow my doors off.

I think it is time for me to upgrade to a Tier 3 car, but I can't seem to figure out how... anyone have suggestions?

Not sure who Chevy's customer base is, but my "coffee breaks" aren't like that. I generally get a cup of coffee and chat with some office mates.

I'd think they would broadcast the hick commercials to only the hick regions of the county, as I'm sure lots of people living in LA or New York or other places that speak proper English must kind of roll there eyes at the commercial like I do.

No offense to those living in hick states.

well i played excitebike for the Wii @ gamestop for about an hour today.

it's like some offroad marriage of burnout revenge and the original exitebike. tons of ramps to hit and lots of air to get in your truck. leaning the wiimote to the left and right steers your vehicle, and tilting it forward and backward controls the forward/backward lean.

coolest thing in the game is the turbo-jump! right before you hit a huge ramp, you press the turbo button, and you'll go flying into the air at like 1 million miles an hour and you don't hit the ground for like 5 minutes. you basically become an aircraft. after that you have to tilt the controller forwards or backwards just right so you land on four tires. every time you land after a jump on all four tires you get a speed boost, so it's all crazy like that. lots of speed.

there are powerups in the game that change the terrain of the track, which is pretty freaky to experience. in one track i was approaching this underpass of a bridge , aimed for a powerup that i had no idea was going to do. as soon as i touched it the ground right under the bridge morphed from flat ground to a HUGE ramp, and it launched me right into the bridge and i fucking died. when you crash into a tree or get submerged into water you have to mash the acceleration button. if you mash it enough you'll get a speed-boost once you respawn. if you boost too much you'll over heat (but that's just the manual boost, not powerup-boosts) the games graphics? view-distance comparable to oblivion on the 360/PC.. sharp textures. it's not just a "beefed up gamecube", the graphics are awesome.

controlling the game was a blast after i got used to it. i was quick to judge the controller; i picked it up and got into a race and was running into everything. i was like, holy shit, this sucks! but once i got the hang of it, it was awesome. the wiimote weighs probably 2 ounces. it's very light. that is all.

Alright I want to get a Wii on the 19th anyone else here looking to get one at launch??
After the Target thread it looks like a few stores in the area are getting decent amounts. Question would be which would be the best choice to goto, looks like the biggest quantities are at stores farther out of town. So might be worth a drive as would be a better chance of getting one.

I'm playing around with NWN2 and I'm not very impressed so far. I've left town and I just entered the Fort Locke region or whatever it's called. Obviously I'm still early in the game, so I can't comment on the story - but the interface is ass. Seriously, I think I miss the crappy radial menus from NWN1. It's just a pain to get anything done.

I'm playing a Rogue with aspirations of being a Shadow Dancer, but we'll see. The graphics sure aren't anything special, even with everything cranked to max. Bummer!

I'm also seeing an annoying little bug, I'm seeing a text window within the chat window that blocks all the incoming messages. If I click on it, I can type in it, but I can't move it or close it. =(

Adobe Illustrator Menz

I have a file I'm working on. I did something somehow, now all my objects have strokes and I can't remove them. I've even highlighted all my shapes and removed the stroke. It kind of looks like there' s a stroke on another layer.. but if I a move a shape, it moves with a stroke, and it says it doesn't havea stroke!! wtf?

Why do ALL my shapes have a stroke than I can not remove? I can add a stroke and change hte size, but when I remove it.. the shape is stuck with a black stroke around it again!?

It kind of looks like all my shapes have multiply transparency applied as well as you can see the strokes THROUGH other shapes. You can't see the fills, but you can see the strokes no matter what shape it passes behind.

Any ideas?

thoughts on the "Torn" (BSG)...

I sorta feel like although it was a really good episode, with lots of references to sci fi classics in this one episode, I really felt like they needed to

make baltar's trip to the dying basestar more of a personal moving experience where not only the cylons were changed (via the threat of the virus), but he psychologically in terms of wandering through the basestar. I really would have liked him to have a talk with the dying hybrid instead of the six, and have her engage him in small lucid conversation for a short time (think neo and the oracle), sort of like when dave talks to HAL in 2001 (A Space Oddyssey), in what becomes a different type of momment for Gais (just have her babbling as he passes, and then suddenly look at him and make some very coherent statements relevent to him, and then fade back into her psychosis), but then have him lose his newly found insight and resolve upon having the conversation with the dark haired six. I just think they lost a very solid character developing opportunity there. (of course, who am I to question the guy, RD Moore, who is doing quite possibly hte best sci fi work of our generation? but he did say this episode had to be salvaged, etc..)

Anyone out there in shackland with a video ipod? Where do you get most of your video for it? I have subscribed to video podcasts and bought a few TV shows but what I really want to do is transfer my DVDs to it. I've tried freeware apps and they suck. Takes 8+ hours and the sound and/or picture is screwed up. I bought a product from Roxio but it flat out didn't work. Any suggestions?
