I got the original Guild Wars for the PvE fun, and it was good for about 30 hours. I played some PvP but because of a lot of confusion on my part and my teammates, matches weren't so much fun. I put it aside for 6 months, then hopped back in, tried PvP and everybody was elite. I was being kicked out of groups, and elitism was rampant, it was no fun playing the game anymore.

Occasionally I'll hop in and do some more PvE but the PvP didn't really sit well with me. I'm thinking Nightfall will be a good purchase though, as it has more PvE emphasis this time around.

i have factions, but hate that after lvl 10 the next arena is so far away.

I got to the mainland and there are a ton of lvl. 20 mobs in between me and the next city with an arena. I really want to play PvP inbetween PvE sections, but Factions seemed to instantly jump to lvl 20. when I had done everything on the island.

- That sounds rough ... I have not played GW:F much at all. I only have GW:P ... but plan on getting GW:... : Nation
- Why not just create a PVP character for when you want to PVP? It can even have the same class combo as... : kkolk8

Some more info about this free weekend:

Basically, this sounds more like a D2 or DS2 on the PvE side ... and some advances on the PvP.

Download the client early and start downloading all the other stuff it downloads when you attempt to log on friday.
