Evening Reading

Try and take it easy for once this evening.

- Japan pissy with Apple
- Amazon gives up Vista pricing/release
- The WiFi alliance nears a new standard finally
- Will the PS3 save Sony?
- Be a weatherman

Lastly, I grabbed a SlingBox off of eBay the other day for quite cheap and I must say I'm damn impressed. Highly recommended for those of you wanting to do remote viewing of your TiVo. Plus if you've got the right phone you can watch it on that O_o

It's true. I find my computer nearly useless unless it's connected to the net.

Move to Mountain View, CA. Google Wifi is pretty awesome.

I doubt there will be free wifi anytime soon but I think their example will encourage other cities to start huge wifi networks at affordable prices. Something like getting DSL and access to Local Wifi in the same package.

The city government in Toronto (or maybe it's the provincial government) is supposed to be rolling out comprehensive WiFi in the downtown core. I'm not sure if it's going to be free though, but it's being done through the government-owned hydro company.

Granted, CWRU has been on the cutting edge of network tech for a long time, but this is still cool.
