Why is that in none of the BF2142 screens released, they never really show any wide shots of the levels' landscapes? Does it really look that bad. Most of these screens are just close-ups of various soldiers and vehicles.

I got in the 2142 Beta (have a FP subscription). I was pleasantly surprised that the game browser (though still Beta) is already far more responsive than BF2. As for the game, it's pretty much as billed. A spruced up version of the BF2 engine with futuristic tanks and bots. The models are pretty nice, and the Titan play mode provides for a somewhat more interesting gameplay mechanic than traditional capture and hold. It's not that involved, certainly nowhere on par with an ET/RtCW style objective based map), but the game is still fun to play. If you like BF2, but wish some of the things that suck about it sucked less, than 2142 may be the answer. I'll definitely buy it, but only because that other game got delayed. ;)
