AMD Price Cut Overview

26

DailyTech has this story up with a table showing planned price cuts for AMD processors. As expected, these cuts are massive, with a $649 Athlon 64 X2-5000+ AM2 soon going for $282, a $522 Athlon 64 X2-4600+ AM2 going for $224 and many other top-of-the-line Athlon CPUs becoming close to or more than 50% cheaper as well.

So basically, anyone that just bought an AMD CPU should feel really really really sad right now.

The 4800 X2 was out when I decided to buy my AMD Athlon 64 3000+ cpu last November. Now for the same price I paid for that I can get a Athlon 64 4600+ x2 :)

they must have been living under a rock to not know that these price drops were coming. The inquirer was the first to mention them nearly 6 weeks ago and then a few days later the more credible tech news sites confirmed it.

I don't and I just bought mine 4 days ago. So if I waited several weeks, I might of saved ~ $160. Atleast I have my system now instead of weeks from now.

Anyone that bought anything since intel decided to flood the market with the cheap 905's should have known this was coming.
