I don't play much WH40k tabletop game... but what I read from the codec my friend's brothers have... Necron's don't have much story going on for them. They just seem like a bunch of soul-less terminators (think John Conner terminator, not Ultramarine terminator). Yeah, they've got some ancient history behind them, and how they plagued the universe a bajillion years ago... but what about now? Where's the heart behind the race...

Ultramarines have great fiction behind them... so do Imperial Guard, Eldar, and all the others. They have real souls to them... but Necrons... just mindless robots with no backstory. :|

The unfortunate thing, for me, is: I don't care for the Tau or the Necrons.
I will probably buy the game anyway... I am a 40k addict.
