F.E.A.R. Extraction Point Announced

25

Vivendi Games today announced the development of F.E.A.R. Extraction Point, an expansion pack for Monolith's action thriller. Development of Extraction Point will be handled by TimeGate Studios, the company behind the Kohan series. It will be released this fall.

F.E.A.R. Extraction Point kicks off where the original game ended -- with a bang. The First Encounter Assault Recon Team (F.E.A.R.) returns to battle the now free Alma and her paranormal minions [...] New locations, weaponry and enemies combine to take the F.E.A.R. franchise to new levels of action and suspense.

I guess, since Monolith isn't related to anything F.E.A.R. anymore

        how come?

I'd like NOLF3 as much as I'd love to see a next-gen Blood version, all while I hope this expansion turns out well - they have the possibility to finally leave the night-time factory and office building settings for something a bit more unique, more interesting...

IIRC, the parted ways with VUG/Sierra and since VUG/Sierra owns the F.E.A.R. IP, they don't get to take it with them.

didn't the CEO of Monolith say that while they don't have the rights on the actual FEAR IP, they do own all the game content tho and plan to continue the game under a different name?

It will be interesting to see how differently Monolith and Vivendi will handle the sequals. I mean if Monolith owns everything but the name F.E.A.R. then is Vivendi just going to rename everyone and everything?
