by Maarten Goldstein, Apr 30, 2006 12:39pm PDTThere is a a post by Petroglyph designer Darth Torpid on LucasForums.com, mentioning several things related to Star Wars: Empire at War. The game's map editor is being QA tested, with a release following the release of a new patch. There are also hints when it comes to an expansion pack. Thanks Blues News.

I was looking forward to this game so much, and when I finally got it I played it for about 3 hours and got sick of it.
No depth. Not enough units, and the land battles are stale and boring.
This should have been done ala C+C Generals ... or at least another RTS that works.
Chalk this up to another failed Star Wars RTS game. :( Too bad too, this one had some real potential.

Beautiful game though, the space battles are a sight to see
Great game . . . can't wait for more

I thought the game was pretty darn decent. Folks that I ran into who did not like it usually were of the genric traditional RTS crowd who hate when developers change things.
Overall, great game... They also have pretty good support to.

The corvettes are waaaaay too overpowered, and the asteroid bases in skirmish mode need more hitpoints.
It just sucks that the first 2 minutes of the skirmish, whoever gets their corvettes to camp the other persons asteroids FIRST wins. Almost without fail.
It's a good RTS. But in a GREAT RTS strategy is what decides victory, not just "rush".
