I'm not asking to be flamed. I'm just looking for a reason why.
Thanks!

Honestly, WoW is more problematic than BF2 ever was, and people continue to pay for it. Ive had minimal problems with BF2, and the fun Ive had playing the game far overshadows any issues.

BF2 was ok. But, if the bugs didn't ruin a round, the players did. And the fact that they've become so stingy with additional content is a turn-off as well. The expansions were totally uninspired. Just my opinion.
Hopefully this will turn out better, but for now I think they've let their greed and laziness get the better of them.

A more sci-fi version of BF ... if its just new art - then fuck it and fuck DICE. If they do something new with game play and balance - Ill be shocked.
ET:QW - arguably occupies same rung on the food chain of FPS games - I will bet that Splash Damage does a much better job with game play, balance AND bugs.
DICE had some great ideas - but Desert Combat was a shitload more fun than BF42 ever was, and BF2 is not in the same league.
Im still playin BF2 ... and waiting patiently for someone to evolve this style of shooter.

I have not played this, but this is how I know
1) Mechs are bigger and better in Planetside
2) More Players, larger maps
3) Better netcode even for a MMOFPS (Its EA and of course they'll fuck it up)
4) Looks like EA just tried to copy some of their vehicles
5) Objectives in BF games have been terribly planned out (even worse than PS)
Although Planetside is greater than this, Planetside wasn't that great.. so this will suck bad ... which is fine by me, because its EA so who gives a rats ass

Maybe if they talk with a real Military historian/consultant.

I wish them luck with it, but it doesn't make me feel funny in my pants like other titles have.

It's not that I don't agree, it's that this is the standard modus operandi for games developers (FPS especially). Why is it now an issue?
Doom > Doom2
BF42 > BF:V
Doom3 > Quake4
etc.
Developers create a new engine. Engine coder starts work on the next interation of the engine while the art team bags out an expansion pack and/or follow on title. It's called maximising your return on effort and keeping your team employed.....

But then last week I was introduced to Quake Wars. I'm a fanboy of niether. But after seeing Quake Wars, and learning about it. I don't know how EA expects market penetration.
No wait, I do. Average Joe Gamer will buy this on the name alone. Nevermind.
There are 4 turrets on the corners of that APC. It's obvious that the 4 guys riding in the back will be able to control a turret to shoot the poor succkers who have to walk.
The problem is...will the drive have remote control of the turrets when there aren't people in the back? This is 2142!! Those turrets should be auto-targetting, with friggin lasers!
I have wanted a future Battlefield game every since 1942 came out, but this is just a stupid vehicle mod that they put maybe an afternoon of thought into. (You can tell because of the short development time.)

But ET: Quake Wars is on the way, don´t worry people :D

As long as there's no stupid bullshit bugs that should not have even made it into the pre-release demo, let alone hang around for 6+ months after going gold and several patches, this will be good stuff.

Now I'm not gonna defend EA and their support/release practices - but pretty much every medium to large games company does exactly what they do - EA just releases more titles so it seems more obvious.
Next-gen graphics, objective-based teamplay, demo before release, highly moddable, stencil shadows, SDK, carried items visible on player models, stopwatch mode, no global stats, linux support...
Yep, I can't wait for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
How did this screenshot get released?
"I'm going to wildly swing my mouse around with my eyes closed and take a shot on the count of three!"
I'm guessing the rest of the shots from this session were pictures of the ground or something.

As of right now...same engine, 'new' game, mo money, horrid support = no buy.
