All Points Bulletin Q&A

by Maarten Goldstein, Dec 28, 2005 6:40am PST

OGaming has an All Points Bulletin Q&A posted, talking to lead designer Stephen Hewitt about this massively multiplayer gang warfare game. Questions are about the game being a GTA clone, making the game appealing to play for months instead of days, research for the game, personalizing the experience, and the type of players they hope to attract.

  • I remember reading about this game a long time ago. I can't believe it's still got another year in development. The whole cops vs. robbers premise is interesting, but they really don't reveal all that much about the actual gameplay. I just don't see how they can put a GTA like game into a MMO setting. You have to be a level 42 thug to jack the sports car?! Split characters into classes where one guy can jack the cars, and another has all the heavy weaponry? Why play this when there will be Quake Wars?

I don't know, and the interview definitely didn't shed many answers. I'll let the game fade back into obscurity for a while, and maybe the next time we hear of it, there will be something more substantive to read about.
