New ATI Catalyst Release

Radeon powered videocard owners can now also update their drivers as ATI has released a new Catalyst driver, version 5.13. The changes are unexciting as far as games fixes go, but this release does include the Avivo support for the x1xxx line of cards for improved video encoding.

Screw these drivers, screw the mandatory catalyst control center, and screw ATI. I'll never buy another ATI card again now that they've forced me to use their bloated piece of crap driver interface. I'll be sticking with my 5.11's until I pick up an nVidia card. My TV-out has never worked with the CCC, and it still doesn't, and that's ontop of how much CCC inherently stinks to begin with.

  my Mobility x600 will not work with any of the new driver sets, I have to use drivers released by my lapt... : m4yhem
  - Use the Omega Drivers. They work on most any ATi card, including my Mobility X300. : Terpfen

Ps, while the release notes may be uninteresting, this release includes the avivo support for the x1### line of cards which can decrease movie encoging times by an absoloute fuckton.

NV cards take 30 minutes wheras this can have it done in 3 for the exact same video. Pretty funky.

- Which, if you are an iPod with Video owner is a godsend since that is one of the supported formats. : SolrFlare

Unexciting? This has a LOAD of DVD and video playback image quality improvements!!!!!!!! Also h.264 gpu decoding for x1xxx cards.
