Civilization IV GONE GOLD

This press release announces that Civilization IV has officially gone gold, not too surprising considering the October 25 release date has been known for a while.

The fourth title in the legendary series of turn based strategy games, Sid Meier's Civilization IV expands on the beloved gameplay of its predecessors with countless new gameplay changes and improvements, including religion, great people and for the first time in the Civilization series, a full 3D engine.

Where are all the pre-release reviews? I'm mega-pumped for this game, but my jaded side would still like to see some impressions before I buy it. Can we expect IGN, Gamespot, Gamespy, PC Gamer, etc. to have reviews posted before the week is out? :)

I've never really gotten into Civ, but I've wanted to. The multiplayer games were very satisfying but they took an entire day (and I'm not exaggerating). Hopefully this offers those long games, but also shorter games, for people like me that like long games but just don't have the time for them most of the time.

Regardless - 9 comments when a QUAKE game has 40something? C'mon people where's your priorities?

This is great news, hope the multiplayer wont be crappy as it was in Civ3. Multiplayer was the first thing Firaxis started working on 2 years ago so hopefully we get a seamless experience this time.
