Rockstar is loving every minute of this. Every time this game gets on TV another 10,000 copies are sold. I have the game on my notebook. When I brought it in to work (I work at a hotel as the front desk manager) the chef as well as the hotel manager, his wife and one of the accountants came over and asked to see the Hot coffee mod. They all heard about it on TV and were curious.

Probably going to end up seeing more content pushing the limits. The more you piss people off the more people's curiosity goes up and the more the game sells.

Also I know I'm going to be flammed for this but here it goes;

Rockstar did this to themselfs. They pushed the envelope too far and should have known it was going to cause them trouble. The "Hot Coffee" mod just gives the people who have been trying to bring down Rockstar for years a smoking gun that they didn't have before.

OMG, its always been a 18 in Britian, sicne the original 2D GTA. First of call because of the appualing driving and huge violence mixed with gangster, drugs adn a like plots. A few years a go at QCon, we asked Todd Hollenshead if DOOM 3 would get a AO rating for the nudity (that was supposed to be in the game) and the violence that was to be off the hook. As he put it, games only get an AO rating if they feature rape or sexual violence.

Buh? Pretty sure God of War had more titties and sex than GTA:SA did and it was part of the normal game. I guarantee they haven't heard of God of War because their hasn't been a dumb ass parent that complained about it after they bought it for their 10 year old kid.

Politicians are so ass backwards it's not funny.

Before we blame society/Clintons/etc, remember that as part of the rating process the game producer sends a videotape to ESRB that represents the game. This tape includes what's supposed to be the most offensive elements included in the footage.

ESRB didn't know about this, it wasn't in the footage, Rockstar seemed to think nobody would ever know, PC version comes out, suprise suprise now everybody knows. ESRB says "hay those guys didn't tell us the truth, this is AO 18+ content" and now Rockstar is saying "Whoops, we did hide that, huh? Well, let's take it out."

Big. Whoop. The game was misrepresented to the ESRB under the idea that nobody would ever find out, and people found out.

And you know what the funny thing about this all is.....the politicians probably don't know jack shit about these so called "video games" that are oh so destined to fuck up the mind of our youth in today's world. They see a booby and they think its "OMFG LASHING OUT TIME". People are different, everyone is different and perceives things to be different. If they want to shovel shit into people's brains, why dont they take a look at movies? They're not any different. For example:

Recently, I'm sure many of you remember, there were three kids who videotaped a lightsaber duel from Episode III. Yet, the lightsabers were neon bulbs filled with gasoline. They were trying to mimic the Anakin vs. Obi Wan duel. Sadly, the bulbs exploded, putting both kids into the hospital under critical condition. Now, thats just pathetic. Im sorry. I feel for the kids and whatnot, but thats so utterly dumb.

This whole society is filled with violence and sex - it's in music, movies, games, everywhere. So what you have a little more interactivity with the games than you do with the music and movies.
