I have worked on many projects, ranging from PC games to console, FPS to role-playing. Right now, I am animating for an Xbox 2 project called Shadowrun. It's a first-person shooter based on an old paper RPG of the same name from a couple decades ago.

I know a bunch of you watch Naruto. Well, it has officially gone down the tubes. I can't take it anymore.

All of the convicts escape the prison, yet only harm the guards and the heroes who try to recapture them? Fuck that, they should all be dead.

Also, they were able to get out and overpower the guards at anytime but didn't do so? These guys were so powerful that they had to be ASKED to go back to their cells? So sad.

I'm sick of it. Bleach is so much more enjoyable than this utter bullshit. I'll watch that one instead.

I am going to Quakecon with the laptop because we are flying from New York.

Problem is that it is a P3 800 Mhz, 128 MB RAM, etc., i.e. =crappy. What games should I bring? Chances are I'll have to go out and buy the older stuff, but that's not really a problem because it should be dirt cheap and it's alot of stuff I should have anyway.

I also think I'll reformat it to Windows 98 as well, since it is very slow w/ it's current Windows XP install.

Thoughts?

Oops ... so I was standing at Dillons waiting to go outside, waiting for the rain to go away. Two old ladies were standing there doing the same. One picked up the new Harry Potter book and said "I just love these Harry Potter books! When the last one was released, I went with my daughter at midnight and bought two books: one for her and one for me. I couldn't stop reading it and finished it in a day or two."

So I said "So no one spoiled the ending for you?"

To which she said "Nope, never saw his death coming."

So I cancelled WoW last night. I've been level 60 for a while now, and theres just nothing fun left to do anymore. I've got Guild Wars, but I'm not really into it for some reason. Then theres BF2, which I can't seem to get into probably because I played Cs for so long.

Any other good multiplayer online games coming out anytime soon, or out right now? I've got GTA:SA, but it doesn't fufill my multiplayer needs. This is the first time in years where I haven't had anything to play online. Probably not since before online was possible for me.

I got a message from a friend having weird issues with the newest Thunderbird's junk mail controls. Here is the text of his email to me:

[/When we got a new PC for my wife, we upgraded her from Mozilla browser
and Messenger to Firebird and Thunderbird. In the process, the junk
mail handler seems to have stopped working right.

Previously, it'd tag her messages, and she had it pretty well trained.
She still did a manual "delete all messages marked as junk," but it went
quickly.

Now, it tags a _very_ few messages. I manually run junk mail controls
on folder (inbox), and it tags a bunch more--and then the next time it
syncs with the server to refresh incoming messages, it untags everything
but the few that were already tagged. Bizarre.]/

That's all I know about the situation... but does anyone have a suggestion?

Does anyone know if the soundtrack for C&C Generals is available for purchase anywhere? I recently started playing this game again with my friend and some of the music is really, really excellent I think.

Update to the Transparent PNG's in IE comment I made in the now nuked thread, just in case anyone was following that:

I forgot you have to add the file name and scale attribute to the filter.

So the REAL working solution is this:

Got rearended at the intersection light today.

Getting out of the car, walking over the the car that hit me.
The dude in the car: "Oh man, I am sorry"
Me: "It's fine, let's pull over to the curb"

Moving the cars. Walking back to the dude. He gets out of the car, tattoos all over, pants at the ankles, underwear sticking out up to his chest.
Dude: "Sorry, man"
Me: "Just give me your insurance policy and car registration"

Writing down the policy number, company name, exparation date: xx/xx/04.
Damn...
Me: "You shouldn't be driving with expired insurance"
Dude: "Oh, I got out a week ago, didn't have //mumbles//"
Me: "Got out of where?"
Dude: "Prison"
Great...
Dude: "You know I told the driver of the car that hit me to pull over to, but she took off"
Me: "You mean, somebody hit you and that's how you hit me?"
Dude: "Yeah, she just hit me and then took off. So you have to tell your insurance company it wasn't my fault"

Me: "Well, if she is gone, no one will believe you. We need to call the policy and file a report. Do you want to call the cops?"

The back of my car had already been banged up before that, so there was no new visible damage...But if there was new damage, I would've had to call the police which would've been very annoying...

AV HALP!

I know I've asked a similair question before but I only got 1 or 2 isolated replies and I am about 10-15 minutes away from submitting my order and I have cold feet.

I'm about to make the plunge and purchase the 2405fpw, I just want to make sure I'm making the right choice before I drop the ~$900 on it as I need it for certain applications and was wondering if maybe one of the Dell Multifunction Monitor/TV's or something else was a better choice.

Basically my 1024x768 laptop res is unbearable for when I have to anything school related, I need more real estate for having multiple documents open, since Dell wants too much to upgrade the screen, I figured why not get a new LCD instead. However my apt is cramped and I dont have room/desk space for it, so I need something that will give me more desktop res AND function well as a TV/Gamecube display, so it can replace my 19" component ready TV.

So will the image degradation associated with running TV through composite and Gamecube through component inputs at what is probably not native res be bad enough to make it really noticeable? Is the 2405fpw capable of doing 720p in all its glory? The problem with the multifunction tv/lcd Dell has is that their maximum res is not much better than my laptops, so that almost completely eliminates their usefulness. Are there any other displays out there that would better suit my needs than the 2405fpw?

I currently watch DVD's at 1280x960 on another borrowed crappier laptop which has a native res of 1600x1200, the image quality seems a little foggier but perfectly fine imo, is this small dropoff in image quality similair to what I can expect from the 2405fpw?

Man you guys were rite about the diamondback. The mouse took me awhile to get used to but it kicks so much ass. Its WAY more comfortable for gaming then the logitech mx mouses. Got my exactmat today though and it really gives me a better control of the mouse.

Diamondback+exactmat for the win!

WTF, every time I've tried to upload a file bigger than 10mb to my shackspace recently my FTP client says it's finished uploading and automatically disconnects. Thing is, no matter which FTP client I use it doesn't upload and they all do the same thing. >:(

Dinner anyone? Fajitas * Heat a good sized cast iron skillet on a medium-medium high heat. * Toss a bit of butter on there and then toss on some diag cut onions (cut like you were making onion soup, little half moons) and a big pinch of kosher salt. * Smash a few cloves of garlic and toss that on the sweating onions. * Cut up a red, orange, and green pepper in nice slices and toss those on there. Add more butter if need be. * Slice up a jalapeÃƒÂ±o or two and maybe an Anaheim Bell Pepper or just anything thats spicy but wont take away from the dish. Keep sweating everything thats in there for a bit, stiring ocationally. * A pack of boneless skinless chicken breast, dethawed, and sliced up into bits. I do this while the veggies are sweating normally. * If you have a fajita rub, use it. I normally go with just a little kosher salt, some ground pepper, and a mesquite rub my local spice merchant sells. Not too much, I like to let my peppers do the talking in this dish. The chicken isn't too over powering itself so that those who want something not so spicy can just pick off the peppers. * Turn the heat up a bit and push veggies to the side, toss the chicken in the center. Flip ocationally and mix in the veggies until chicken is done. * Fixins are key. I recomend warmed tortillas (oven at lowest setting on a big plate normally works. You can get tortilla warmers fairly easily but I live without. Not necesarily Mexican but I recomend rice, black beans, sour cream, freshly grated soft cheddah, lettuce, and tomatos.. * Serve chicken while it is still spitting at you - just put the skillet on a nice hot pad on the table and let people pick out of it. Everything else in serving dishes and just do it table buffet style.

Sweet stuff? Blue Berry Muffin Season Check your local fruit supplier / orchard. Its Blue Berry time. Even your local meglomart should have some fairly fresh Blue Berry action.

Except I add about a teaspon or so of real Mexican Vanilla for a nice boost of flavor. You can add non plain yogurt too! I used a vanilla yogurt one for a twist, a strawberry one when making strawberry muffins, etc. Have some fun. However, follow those mixing instructions to a T! The woman made these once she neglected the note of not over stiring and not cranking the heat up on the oven! The difference in texture and taste was night and day. NIGHT AND DAY MY FRIENDS! This recipe is GREAT food science, from the stiring, to the heating to the dry mix on the blueberry! Make these things I can promise you a happy plate :)

Harry Potter And The Book Bent All To Sh*t

Got my copy of the next book from Amazon.ca today. Postman showed up at just before 7:15am. So I was barely awake when I opened the door and accepted package.

Didn't notice that the package was bent all to hell. Open box, book looks....ok.... then upon further inspection it is warped all to hell. Looks like it had been sitting in a warehouse all week stacked beneath hundreds of other heavier things. Sticker right on the package "This package was found opened or damaged" (by Canada Post). Duh. Amazon.ca won't take stuff back if it has been 'opened' or 'not in its original condition'.

So I guess this copy will be finding its way to a school/orphanage. And I'm off to local bookstore to get another copy when they open this a.m. :/ Hopefully they are still on sale lol
