No AGP for 7800 GTX
by Alec Matias, Jul 05, 2005 10:51am PDTIf you're looking to upgrade to nVidia's latest and greatest, you better make sure your motherboard is up to snuff. The Inquirer is reporting that nVidia will only release the 7800 GTX in the PCI-Express flavor, meaning no AGP version. ATI, however, still plans to support AGP with its next series of video cards.

a) already have a PCI-E slot available, or
b) can afford to drop the extra money -- a fraction of the cost of the card -- on a new motherboard to go along with your $600 monstrosity, or
c) don't understand enough about computers to know that you'll probably be bottlenecked somewhere else anyway and won't be allowing the card to reach its full potential (i.e. wasting your money).
Idiots at nVidia? Pfft, give me a break.
