"Gamecloud - The NPD Group reported that The Matrix Online sold 43,000 copies in its first month. Were the sales of Matrix Online below Warner Bros. Interactive's expectations for the game?

Jason Hall - As you mentioned, the Matrix Online was officially launched less than three months ago. During that time there has been incredible competition from other MMO titles"

So that's a yes, and explains the sale, though whether WB are washing their hands of it or whether they believe Sony are magically going to boost suscriber numbers remains to be seen.

If I understand it right, one fee on SOE covers all of their MMO games. They are probably trying to boost subscriber numbers by adding the Matrix Online to this "suite" and hoping people try it out since it would be essentially free for those who are already paying this subscription fee.

Good call, that was my guess.
