Wrap-up of the Microsoft E3 Media Briefing
by Alec Matias, May 17, 2005 7:17am PDTSince we were quite busy getting our HD footage up and loaded last night, we held off on posting my wrap-up of the event. Here it is now, complete with a few pictures and a look at that Xbox 360 faceplate that they gave away.
Allard also introduced a segment that showed how the Xbox 360 is essentially "always on." Any user can easily move from function-to-function with quick button presses. Go from playing a game to listening to music to watching a movie to viewing live HDTV and then accept a game invite and come full circle, completing the Xbox 360 experience. Everything happened seamlessly; no loading or long waits, just press and go. Best of all, the majority of these Xbox Live functions will be free.

I'm curious as to what that could have possibly have been, since it was before they had even unveiled the unit.

Until Square releases games for X360 only or simulataneous release to both systems will it matter.
That FFVII and FFXII demo on the PS3 was pretty damn impressive, a lot moreso than a FFXI update for X360.

My thoughts exactly. Why do corporate types have the need for corporate filler lingo and grandiose promises that no one in their right mind would believe? A billion people online with the Xbox 2? So let me get this straight, you're planning on selling 10-15 times as many units as Sony ever did with the PS2? Yeah, good luck with that. Maybe if it debuts at $50.
I understand the need to throw out rediculous numbers like that and pad expectations for the lay consumer, but a room full of industry and gaming press? (and the people online hardcore enough to watch the streaming presentation - i.e., not the walmart cunsumer) Why waste thier time with junk like that?

the new Tiger Woods does not appear to have taken full
advantage of the X360's awesome processing/graphics power.
The beauty of golf games for me is the feeling of being in
the great outdoors, and that could be enhanced so much with
highly realistic grass, trees, weather effects, lighting, etc.
Hopefully someone else will release a golf game worthy of the console.
