Operation Flashpoint 2 Now Armed Assault
by Maarten Goldstein, May 16, 2005 8:31am PDTThe Operation Flashpoint 2 website is redirecting traffic to the Bohemia Interactive owned ArmedAssault.com, indicating that the game is undergoing a name change. A logo from publisher Codemasters is missing, which might be the reason the game is changing titles. Thanks Blues News. Meanwhile Tiscali Games has some screenshots from the project.

Changing the name from something people know to something vapid, generic and boring is stupid.

I'm really hoping they fix and improve a lot of the things wrong with Flashpoint. They need..
-Better damage and ballistic models for vehicles so its no longer health points based. That way you cant have your vehicle destroyed by someone unloading 50 small arms rounds into a tire.
-Actual radar and FLIR systems.
-Multiple gun positions/turrets per vehicle. So we're able to use the commander and loaders MGs on the M1 Abrams.
-More vehicle classes to allow for VTOL vehicles and gunships like the AC130.
-Improved indoor areas, AI that can deal with indoor areas and less clipping for the player.
Thats all i've got so far.

I've been waiting for this game a while now. Looks like it's a modern setting now.
