V-Chip for PC Gaming

14
A new tool for parents wishing to control their children's gaming habits is now available. WallFly, from SMARTguard software, is essentially a V-Chip for PC gaming. Using the ESRB ratings, it allows parents to restrict games with certain ratings. Also, it allows them to establish how much gaming can and can't be done, either by setting a daily limit or designating blocks of time that are okay for playing games.

I don't really see how this is any more effective than personally monitoring the games that get installed. If a kid is smart enough to hide game installations, I'm sure he'd be wise enough to either uninstall or disable this software. However, controlling how much time is spent playing games is nifty; I probably would've been an honor roll student if my parents had that.

Hell, I'm going to buy this software for myself so I can stop playing games when I should be doing work.
