How exactly does THQ provide gamers with a downloadable patch with a game that won't connect to Live?

I'm getting worried with all the rumors of xbox 360. Skimming quickly through pages seeing that its only compatible with HDTV's. We don't even have HDTV in the UK yet. And im betting that they are going to cost a few thousand pounds at least. Also that apparently it doesn't come with an actual hard drive. I'm surprised they don't just stick with what they have now inside an xbox. 4 control ports, ethernet port and a hard drive.. Memory cards are to much money for the space you get on them, and you can lose them. Unlike a hard drive where you cannot lose it and it has loads of space on it.. I need may 12th to hurry up already. As then i can make a final decision whether to buy one or not.. The launch games list looks really good though

I like the look well enough, but dislike the fact it's tapered in the middle like that. Hopefully that doesn't make it difficult to stack.

The XBOX 360 would look a lot better without that super generic font. The "XBOX 360" on the drive looks absolutely awful. I hope that's just a placeholder for the final logo/type. Final judgement on the overal design should probably be reserved until the unit is seen from other angles....

That isn't a photo, its a vector graphic done in Adobe Illustrator. Its easy to tell if you look at the gradient in the circle of the power button.

So, I finally played/finished Metroid Prime 2 this week - I was expecting it to be Prime 1 with a few silly gimmicks (light/dark world) and overall be a slightly worse game. Having finished it, though, I think it's a great improvement and I'm pretty sure I liked it better than the first.

Things I liked:
- the game looks great, little graphical clean ups and I love the art direction this time around
- increased difficulty, I wish hard mode was available from the get go but at least this time I actually died a few times before the end of the game (something that didn't happen in Prime1 until the omega pirate). Being under pressure in the dark world was cool
- screw attack, I didn't think it would be cool in 3D but I <3 it
- light suit looked rad, but then again so did the phazon suit
- it just felt like they took the game in a slightly different direction, with different powerups/suits/beams (even though a lot was similar to old stuff) which was a breath of fresh air

Things I disliked:
- ammo management could get tedious at times, really it just made me use the power beam more which in turn made things more difficult (a good thing, I guess - but crazy beams are fun)
- I was expecting more out of Dark Samus. I was hoping for some real SA-X moments, where she'd stalk you and you'd just have to fucking run for your life and hide or get mowed down, but her appearances were limited to a few boss fights :(

Anyway, great game. Ending spoilers: maybe in the next game Dark Samus will play a bigger/more interesting part

Anyone think the x360 will support multiple resolutions?

I have a nice HDTV that unfortunately only does 1080i and 480p. It seems like there is a big buzz for 720p in regards to the x360 output on many forums, but I figured MS may account for my situation(and probably many others) by detecting the HD resolutions available and selecting the highest (while possibly having to drop AA or whatever). I have no clue, but just a thought. I just hope I dont have to invest in another TV to play HD games.

So my thinking is that the button on the right is for changing the "faceplate." That way you can customize colors etc... just a thought. :-)

Honestly, the 360 could look like a coiled dog turd for all I care. I'm more interested in the launch games than what it looks like.
Its just a bonus that it looks pretty hot.

If the tapering in the middle coincided with the bulge in the original xbox so you could stack them, that would be nice.

I for one love its design, and I'm sure it would look alot better to most of you if it was in your hands. :)

well, I for one like the 360 design. I was (extremely) worried when i heard it would be white, but this sort of white/silvery thing actually looks pretty good. I just hope the controller isn't really that nasty amorphous blob in all those pictures.

As long as the new xbox is smaller then the original one i couldnt care less how the unit looks. The games is where its at....

I just hope my xbox2 work longer than 14 months. DDE!
