Ghost Recon 2 PC Cancelled
by Maarten Goldstein, Apr 11, 2005 3:47pm PDTUbisoft has finally confirmed that Ghost Recon 2, released on console systems last year, will not make its way to the PC. According to the Ghost Recon website update, Ubisoft has instead decided to focus completely on Ghost Recon 3 which they hope will be "a much more satisfying and evolved gaming experience" (the Xbox version had decent reviews, the PS2 and GameCube versions did not). Ghost Recon 3 is expected to be released during the fourth quarter of this year.

But honestly? I don't care. I mean if it was going to be just a port for the PC from the Xbox/PS2 version, the last thing I want to see is a game that I really appreciated and spent a lot of time with, changed ENTIRELY for it's sequel, only to appeal to Johnny 13 Year Old Casual Gamer.
Ubi is behind some pretty cool games, hell, I'm really enjoying Brothers in Arms, but fuck them for pissing all over some really great and intelligent franchises. Not only Ghost Recon, but even more so, "Rainbow Six" 4. I wouldn't be suprised if RS4 gets cancelled for the PC as well, and I really hope that they do.
Raven Shield was probably the last great tactical and strategic special warfare video game that will have the Clancy name attached to it.
I'm only bummed because I won't get to type review GR2 for the PC. Personal indeed.

This time it's personal, Ubi.
