As you might've noticed, a new Steam update has been released fixing a Source Engine exploit and a Counter-Strike: Source crash bug. Restart Steam to grab the patch.

I love how Steam completely negates what was supposed to be it's most useful feature by not patching the f'in game until you go to play it.

Wicked Cool. Why does this thing want to run 100% of the time again? Just for shits and giggles?

Now if they'd just fix the server browser bug that still exists. Whenever I refresh CS v1.6 servers I get a load of CS:S servers also, which seem outnumber the 1.6 servers. I hope this doesn't happen with DoD's server browser when DoD:S is released, it's pretty aggravating.

I sure wish Friends would work. It worked great for my old HL1 account. It doesn't work with my Steam purchased account, but it works great for my friends HL2 retail purchased account.

I've even tried to login to my friends computer and use his system/settings/network to run friends on , still doesn't work.

Is my account broken or something?

man i think they're doing great with supporting the system. we've had well over a dozen patches so far. no one else does that.

that said, they do take their sweet time with new maps.

VAC2 Coming

For those who can't read (or don't bother to mention in the newspost ;P):

Next week we'll begin beta testing the new Valve Anti-Cheat system. For people playing multiplayer games, there will not be any visible difference while we're conducting the beta, but we will be logging cheating violations into our database to make sure it's ready for general release. This will be the last public notice before the system is released and active for everyone.

With this update valve probably enabled the VAC2 stuff to start gathering information about cheaters. In the next couple of weeks when VAC2 goes live there will be a lot of fucked people lol.
