Late Night Consoling

Over the weekend, as reviews trickled in, Shackers learned that Sony's God of War appears to be a stellar title. It's doing so hot that it is currently maintaining a 98% average over on GameRankings (which would put it #3 of all-time). Pretty impressive for a title that's been flying under the radar. If you live near Hollywood, you can stop by the Universal CityWalk EBgames and get your copy signed by David Jaffe, creator of the game. I hope it gets the attention it apparently deserves, especially since it's releasing two days before the PSP.

However, much more surprising is a listing for Katamari Damacy under a list of upcoming Namco titles. No details on that title were shared.

  • PS3 Dev Kits in UK

GamesIndustry.biz has learned that select UK developers now have their hands on development hardware for the next-generation PlayStation. GI was able to wiggle out of one source, "they're more advanced than the PowerMac kits [Microsoft] has given us [for Xenon] - they're still prototypes, but they're closer to what'll be in the final console... The graphics chip isn't there, say, but we can get a pretty good idea by taking an NVIDIA 6800 and saying, okay, it'll be like this but faster." The source did say that a hardware update from Microsoft is forthcoming.

The Darkness? Can't say I've heard of that comic... But, on the other hand, I hadn't heard of Hellblazer before investigating the origins of Constantine either. :D

I read the first 20 or so of the comics right when they first came out.

Man, I can't tell you how excited I am about this. Just a couple months ago I was musing on how cool it would be to have a "The Darkness" game.

And it's being made by Starbreeze? Awesome.
