doom 3 was an insult to modern game design.

Far far better fps's came out last year - chronicles of riddick for example. Enlighten me as to why, going through narrow corridor and small room after small room, activating psuedo switches which cause monsters to spawn from inside cuboards is an accomplishment. Its obvious from your ramblings that you are easily pleased, and in a way, im happy for you. If you can enjoy repetive, dull, gameplay, which itself does not differ greatly from games like quake 2 then more power to you.
I ask more from my games these days. Non linear paths, emotive original stories, immersive *varied* enviroments. Doom 3 was an insult - it offered nothing new, and displayed some shocking flaws in design (cant carry a torch and a gun at the same time for example) id have riden on their reputation for far too long.
Thats all Im going to say on it.
