And yes I've heard the Carmack quotes about how they had this feature in Doom3 before HL2, blah, blah, blah, but still...seems like a blatant rip-off if you ask me.

I mean it's not like everyone hasn't heard of enough it as it is really. It seems like every news post about doom3 this crowd shows up. What's the point. We heard you the first time, you think doom3 sucked and hl2 is better. How about instead of posting that for the 39 billionth time you try to post something constructive.

I really liked DOOM 3's single player experience. Especially the atmosphere. The first game to actually scare me shitless. Shame the multiplayer did not take off (primarely due to ID's lack of support for it). Thank god for HL2DM. I like the good ol' shoot 'em up style of DOOM 3 though. It's a nice change from the more complex games out there.
I think the expansion will be even better since the game design team has had time to play the original and address the minor issues found in it. One of the reviews listed said that they saw little of the "take a goodie, bag guy pops out" mechanic being used.
I look forward to this expansion.

i liked doom 3 and it scared the shit out of me - gg id, another quality game from you guys :)
...and im kind of stoked for the gravity gun honestly, i didnt really like HL2 all that much (i didnt really like HL1 all that much either :P)
I'm not arguing either way with it at the moment, though I do understand both party's argument.
doom 3 was an insult to modern game design.

I was trying to run it at my LCD's native res of 1280x1024 and even at Medium details it felt very choppy. :(

You haven't realized there are a million design elements that sound good on paper. Only a few play well.

I wish they would just leave the mp part out entirely, as it will likely be less than spectacular.
