The first release of Enemy Territory Fortress is now available, offering fortress gameplay for the free Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory game. There's also an ET Shackbattle happening later today if you're up for some gaming.

Am I the only QWTF player that watched the promo videos and thought that this mod looked promising but made a ton of minor changes to the gameplay? The fact that the physics are completely ass backwards (juggling people up 100 feet into the air with the Demo's grenade launcher, being able to launch pipes into yourself and having them explode on contact, etc.), the sniper rifle not functioning anything like it did in the original (charging up a shot for 2 seconds causes an insta-gib), and the fact that yet another group has classified bunny hopping as a "feature" will keep me from touching this one with a ten foot spanner.

Being a QWTF elitist is so disappointing sometimes. :(

Is this not Q3F just ported to ET?

I recognized what looked like some of the original Q3F models by BoboTheSeal being used.

Wow, it's the EXACT same game as Team Fortress Classic, just with slightly upgraded graphics and a different names for the classes.

Oh, and WTF did they do to the soldier's rocket launcher!?!? It's a complete POS now :(

www.etfgame.com is the website for the mod, although they had to go with a minimilaist approach due to all the web traffic during the release.

So, where can I find some info on this? About what they've done with the game and what's different from the original? Judging from the comment below it doesn't sound too different, but it's not really that comprehensive either, so... ;)

And it's pretty good for a first release, too. I have the fealing that snipers are a bit stronger than they should, but downloadworthy nevertheless.

Plenty of servers up, too. Just don't be like me and try playing a spy unless you like getting shot all the time by dumb teammates and smart enemies.
