according to the steam status page they have plenty of bandwith available, shitloads of people cant open any source game, and the steam forums are offline.

Great times to be had with these physics, I love being able to snag an object out of enemy hands and send it back mowing him down.
The flaming barrels are a love/hate relationship as well; they're really fun if you get to suprise the enemy, but suck ass being caught with them. :(
GREAT addition to an overall superb game. Would play again!

its got a BAD stuttering, HL2 has it as well (also just poor fps as well). was there ever a fix?
also if you have a 6800GT and it runs Smoothly, then what drivers are you using?

1) need less guns and ammo starting out: it's ridiculous!
2) needs a simple "grav gun only" setting in the server
Renamed steam folder, reinstalled steam fresh, logged into my account, it updated for a minute or so. Shut down steam, then moved over the Source engine and HL2 gcf's only.
Started steam again (didnt check whether HL2 normal worked, probably should have). Downloaded HL2DM, tried to launch, didn't work.
There's something funky going on that I don't really think we can fix ourselves.

In team deathmatch, do you get friendly indicators or somethintg?
Those of us with the no-launch problem, if we try to run the SDK, it says that HL2 is out of date and needs updated. Of course when we try to launch HL2 it crashes (no-launch).
I don't really want to redownload all the .gcf files. Anybody got a backup somewhere and they want to give it a shot?
Maybe our Source engine .gcf's got f'ed up. I'm probably going to delete some of the smaller ones and see if that fixes the problem.

I shoot the secondary fire on the combine overwatch gun, the grenades the disintegrates you.
The guy I shoot it at catches it with his grav gun and fires it right back at me.

Here's what I think: whatever many of us updated for the basic HL2 engine is screwing up; I deleted the hl2.exe from Half-Life Source's folder, and when trying to run the game again, it instantly created a new hl2.exe of size 85kb (same as all the other ones). This ultimately crashes, just like all the other Source engine games.
I think the reason all the other games aren't working stems from a screwed up HL2 exe/game content which we must have updated somehow. I think that's why updating just HL2DM doesn't help ...

gravity gun is the best fun ever. 3 people, just gravity guns, all fighting over 1 radiator, picking it up and shooting back and forth between each other! Stopping something THROWN at you and then sending it right back to kill the other person! So awesome!

Played it briefly. Everybody starts out with a gravity gun, a pistol, a machine gun, and a grenade. Gravity guns shoots projectiles a bit slower then single player, which is great. From what I saw, it wasn't that hard to dodge from a distance, yet you can kill somebody from a distance too. The gravity gun seems to be done excellently. Many different player models, both male and female. Reminded me a TON of Half Life 1, but better. Action is fast, yet with the gravity gun there is a bit more of intelligence in it, as people try to grab things off walls, dodge, and aim hits. By the way, "projectiles" respawn, so there's always barrels and crates to shoot.
