I have to write/produce/film/edit a music video for my film production class. I've thrown around a lot of ideas in my head and even gone as far as storyboarding a complete shoot for the song "Drive By" by Glen Philips. However, I don't have the materials (young kid old enough to drive, shotgun, etc...) required to pull it off - at least not right now. It isn't due for ~11 more days, so I'd like to throw around more ideas.
So, if you could make a music video to any song - what song would it be and what would you include in it?
I'm just looking for ideas to get me started. If you in any shape, way, or form help me along I'll credit you in my production and post a downloadable version of the final cut. I'll even make a high resolution version availible if you would like it.
Thanks shack, you never let me down.

There's a lot of truth in there, especially when talking about large scale, corporate game development, which is most of it these days.

All in all they amount to about 5% of the actual review. Just a few memorable quotes really. If you want to read any further or learn anything about the mechanics of the gameplay, the sound and music, the visuals, the characters, or any of the other subjects being discussed in an 8 page spoiler free review, loaded with new pics, then you'll have to buy the mag.
It's worth it ;-)
[...] It was all in that moment when I just sat back and laughed. I couldn't believe it was quite this good. I chuckled in muddled disbelief, expectations utterly defied. My nervous fingers reloaded the level, knowing that I had to see that breathaking sequence one more time. I was then that I knew for certain: Valve had surpassed not only themselves, but everyone else too. Half-Life 2 is an astounding accomplishment. It is the definitive statement of the last five years of first person shooters. Everything else was just a stopgap.

It is this all-encompassing commitment to flawless design that makes Half-Life 2 so appealing. Even without the [...] action side of events, the enviroments become a breathtaking visual menagerie.
[...]
The very idea that people have actually created this world by hand seems impossible, ludicrous. [...] Add to this the split-second perfection of the illustrative music [...] and you have a genuinely mindboggling beauty.

When there's a saw floating in front of your gravity gun and two zombies shamble round the corner, one behind the other, well, you laugh at the horrible brilliance of it. Yeah, I think that's the moment when I sat back and laughed. It's just too much.
[...]
There is so much to talk about, but in truth I don't want to talk, I just want to get back to it: [...] You have to experience it for yourself. This is the one unmissable game.

Just a few more days... I don't think I was ever this hyped up for any game ... well, maybe Wing Commander 3.
Once I see the HL2 logo on my screen I might just have a heartattack and die with a smile on my face :-)

I am thinking movies like Footloose. I think this really is the epitome of what I want. The 80s music is rich through the entire flick. It has a few actors of note and a few that faded faster then their jeans. It has memorable scenes like Ren trying to jump from the tractor as Bonnie Tyler's Holding out for a Hero plays in the background but getting caught by his shoelace. I thas total cheese scenes, namely any part where there is dancing. It breaks barriers, talking about how much sex0r there is in small towns. Its a really good BAD 80s movie.
Others: Karate Kid, Risky Business, Beverly Hills Cop ... NEED MORE!

So far the highly touted 'missions' have ranged from the ground-breaking 'kill 10 of this' missions to the inventive and original 'go kill this guy' missions. It's so totally different from EQ-clone MMOs. Instead of just going out and killing 10 things, you go out and kill 10 things then you get to run all the way back to town to get your experience! Truly a game ahead of its time. ::rolls eyes::
In WoW's favor, I am noticing very little downtime. Mana recharges fairly rapidly and such, however it's nowhere near GuildWars' recharge rate. I still find myself waiting a little bit inbetween fights. The loot is at least interesting, and you get okay stuff from quests. It's also nice that you get to collect little trinkets and pieces of the monsters you fight, but it's too bad that most of it is absolute junk.
I'm going to slog through another 5 levels before I write the game off completely. However, if a game like this hasn't grabbed me by the first 15 levels, there's no way in hell I'm going to waste any more of my time waiting to get to the 'good part'.

I have to have two periodical sources, so if you guys have links to some news articles regarding this that'd be a help.
Also, if any of you are game developers and wouldn't mind me interviewing you for this paper it would be great great. It wouldn't be a long interview, and it would be e-mailed to you sometime this weekend.

And I'm also assuming that even if they aren't wiped, you wont be able to move your character from one realm to another in the beta/final transition.

Also, the map right before that (the monastery) was absolutely gorgeous in places: http://timmie.squabble.org/stuff/painkiller_monastery.jpg.
Haven't beat the last map yet, though. I was too busy gawking at the scenery ;)

I know I don't want to buy through Steam; I need a store bought version. Now, do I need to buy the Collector's Edition to get CS:S and HL:S? Is the Collectors Edition the same as the 'Gold' package? What exactly is CS:Source and HL:Source? Are they just the mutliplayer versions? Does that mean you get no new CS by buying the regular version?
I been real confused by all of this and I need an explaination. If anyone can explain it or drop me a helpful link, I'd appreciate it.

Anyway guess what was taken? NOTHING (as near as I can tell).
Xbox with Halo 2 is still here (I'd have been pissed if that had been stolen), computer (obviously), TV, DVD player, digital camera etc.
Looks like they were after fast cash, building manager said when the police were here they said there'd been a break-in across the road as well, just took cash and a leather jacket from there.
The only cash I keep in my apartment is Australian and British which is all still there. A few clothes scattered about, went through a couple of drawers. Oh and I had a couple of empty shoeboxes under the bed that they've bothered to open up and check in false hope :)
