The Tokyo Game Show wrapped up this weekend and it gave us plenty to talk about. Without a doubt, the PSP stole the show. Its massive showing has all of us talking and plenty of media to oogle over. Something that I'm hearing asked quite often is the question of where are the original games? At first glance, everything appears to be a spin-off; Metal Gear Acid, NFS: Rivals, Hot Shots Golf, etc. Couple things to keep in mind; 1.) This is a Japanese tradeshow, therefore we don't hear much about the Japanes titles that may make it over here, but more importantly, 2.) when releasing a new piece of hardware, the easiest way to gain acceptance is to use established brands that your fanbase is familiar with. Also, Nintendo hasn't helped by setting the profitable precendent of selling old games at current pricing schemes.

PSP Need for Speed, Tiger Woods PSP Launch Titles Electronic Arts revealed that two of their PSP titles, Need for Speed: Rivals and Tiger Woods PGA Tour, will be launch titles not only for the North American launch in the middle of next year, but also for the Japanese launch later this year. Both games will feature wireless multiplayer and feature game modes that take specific (but unspecified) advantage of the PSP. They're also both being developed by EA's new developmental studio, Team Fusion, which is solely focused on PSP development.
Xbox Hurricane Pack Vol. 2 Now Available For those masochistic gamers out there, Tecmo has released Hurricane Pack Vol. 2 for Ninja Gaiden. The addition, available now over Xbox Live, adds a new game mode that has Ryu Hayabusa matching up against every enemy in the game; a battle of endurance that can last over forty minutes. The difficulty is said to be increased. Good luck!
PS2 Growlanser Generations Delayed Days before its expected ship date, it is discovered that Working Design's Growlanser Generations will be delayed at least a month. Director Vic Ireland posted on their message board stating that all work on the game is done but some promotional materials needed to be wrapped up and review copies delivered. He commented, "Now that we're in the 30-45 day window preorders will begin to be taken starting on Monday or Tuesday. Look for details of preorder premiums and the actual announcement of which day they'll begin in the Newsroom soon."
Xbox New Downloadable Content for Rallisport Challenge 2 The rally game of choice for many Xbox gamers, Rallisport Challenge 2, has new downloadable content available. Microsoft Game Studios announced the content includes four new cars (Volvo Amazon, the Saab 96, the BMW X5 and the VW Touareg), two new careers, and new skins. The content was released into two different downloads.
