Dawn of War GONE GOLD

THQ has announced that Relic's latest strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War has gone gold. The game ships to stores September 20.

The highly anticipated real-time strategy (RTS) game for PC is based on the world of Warhammer 40,000 - the dark, futuristic, fantasy universe from Games Workshop (LSE:GAW) traveled by millions worldwide. Developed by THQ's Relic Entertainment Inc., Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War is scheduled to begin shipping to retailers worldwide on September 20, 2004. "Dawn of War delivers the most visceral front-line combat ever depicted in an RTS game," said Ron Moravek, general manager of Relic Entertainment. "We are confident that the visually stunning, epic battles create a distinctive and totally accessible RTS experience."

The beta is awesome...but I'm totally not going to buy this game...or any more for a long time.

Thanks a lot for releasing dozens of quality titles in the next 3 months, game industry.

This looks like a quality game, but I just can't afford to buy anything less than AAA titles when there's so many games coming out.

I think I should mention that the composer for this game also made the music for Total Annihilation. If you've ever heard the soundtrack for TA, then you understand the significance of this.

I'm completely in love with this RTS game. Amazingly different sides (loads of people have complained about them being the same, but they really aren't), fucking beautiful graphics, and enough innovation to keep me going.

I haven't been this excited about an RTS since starcraft. and that says alot.
