After the demo is released, id will also release a Linux dedicated server for the game and also a Linux client for the game

... and the demo is still a few weeks away? Bloody hell! That's hardly what I call "very soon" after release, for the Linux client. His previous finger update made it sound like there would be mere days separating the in-store date and the release of the Linux client.

A demo would be for people who haven't yet bought the game, whereas a Linux client would be for the people who have. In my opinion, their priority should be the Linux client.

their first priority is to sell the game
so releasing the demo first is in their best interest
then again not releasing it till a couple weeks from now is even better since doom3 did extremely well with reviewers and nothing sells better than "hype"
imo doom3 is the most overhyped game ever

totally overhyped, I expect to see better games using the same engine while id laughs all the way to the bank..

they are id and they got it like that!
