if these are tokens figures of the board game then you can assume they are in game =]

As for the tokens, we're including 66 large (30mm scale) plastic figures with the game. id sent us renders of the creatures from several angles and we sent those on to our sculptor, so the pieces look a LOT like what you'd
see in the computer game. Lots of zombies and imps and such, demons, mancubi, and of course, several 3-inch-tall (80mm) cyberdemon figures. I think the marines come up to about the cyberdemons' knees. It's fairly intimidating, really.

If the Mancubus was female as someone mentioned, wouldn't it be a Sucubus instead...since a Mancubus is a male Incubus and a Sucubus is a female Incubus.

So one of the developers/owners of id said this game "takes place as if the first 2 never happened".

While I cannot wait for it, and I am sure it will rock ass, where is all the people attacking the storyline asking why they didnt come up with something new? Instead this is "basically" a remake of 1 and 2.

While I say bring it on, the original story is great, but with all other games that get flamed for lack of good stories (as if every poster that flames that issue is such a literary scholar), or developers not being original, I am suprised this gets off so easy for not making a new story, and just sticking with the original!

Wait, its id, thats why? :-P

What do you guys think of the board game idea? He describes it's mechanics as a cross between SpaceHulk and HeroQuest.

I have a full chapter interview with John Carmack followed up by a 7-page dictionary of the terms he used.

Heh, I actually understand most of what the man says. I spose living with programmers helped that out.

Wahoo, another DOOM book. Hopefully it will be as good as - or better than - Masters of DOOM, which was very interesting but ultimately a bit too loose and disjointed for my tastes.

Man, Steven Kent needs to follow up with his "Ultimate History Of Video Games" book, because he missed a few critical areas (PC gaming and online gaming) and now that the next generation of consoles will be released in the next two years, it'll be time for a small update.

Talking to John Carmack was a "wham, bam, thank you ma'am" experience. He was at work on his computer. I stepped in. He turned, smiled, and said nothing. I asked my first question, and he launched into a very specific and detailed answer with no warm-up. He was very generous with his time and answered every question I could think of. When I said, "I think that takes care of me," he swung back to work with out a good bye. It was sort of, "task complete."...
