Devastation SP Demo

Having played the full SP game I can say that this isn't worth the DL, unless you're really looking for a way to kill an hour or two, expecially considering this thing is 260 megs.

The AI, both enemy and sidekick is mind numbingly stupid. Depending on some of the levels, the sidekicks won't obey your orders, and you have to actually find ways to block their progress, so that you can complete the level with all of them intact. In one level with a minigun weilding security bot, one of the sidekicks got killed so many times, that I had to lure her up into some rafters, then block the ladder off with boxes so she couldn't get down, then jump off the rafters and take the falling damage, then race ahead and deal with the security bot before she could slooooly push those boxes out of the way, then run and stand point blank in front of the bot and shoot at it with her submachine gun while it drilled her face with it's minigun. :P

Sure the game LOOKS nice, at least the levels do, and the weapon models are nice, but the physics are totally useless. Why would you throw a box at someone if you're armed with a shotgun... or... even a 2x4?

The engine that this game is using is buggy as hell !!! First game that puts me back to the desktop without me actually choosing to quit. AArrrgh, don't bother to try this crap ... I should have listened !!!

Try the demo... DO NOT purchase the game.

It is buggy as hell and NO ONE plays MP.

Digitalo really bombed on this one.

well that demo really drives it home how glad i am i didn't blow any money on preview hype.

is the game as dark as the screen shots?

After seeing HL2 any non Doom 3 Engine game looks like shit compared to HL2

this game would have been much better if there were no sidekicks. i just end up telling them to "hold" for the whole level and then when the level ends, they magically appear for the cutscenes. and they need to make the weapons more better. and the physcs. other than that, it's ok.
