PlanetSide Shipping, Plans

Sony Online today announced that their MMOFPS PlanetSide is shipping to stores. Besides this news, the press release also mentions post launch plans. Three new vehicles will be added, there will be Sanctuary strikes and three squadrons will be able to form a platoon as a new feature among other things.

Personally I had a blast in PS beta. Gunna go buy it today. Takes awhile to learn the ropes but it's well worth it once you partake in some truely epic battles. Don't let all the haters fool you...

I thought it was pretty fun but not sure about that Ã‚Â£10/month for it... if that were halved or the actual game were much cheaper(and then just mainly the online fee) I would probably buy it.

No thanks, caters too much to the average "twitch" player.

Recoil is fubar, of course that is to keep those jump/strafe/headshot skilled players from dominating, but that is what makes a FPS when a skilled player can dominate on twitch skill.

Not too mention vehicle controls are not so good.

I'll stop there...

Only thing this has is that it is persistant. but who gives a fuck, cause when u sleep another team comes and undoes all you did. terrible game too, graphics are horrid and I don't play FPS with such crap pings. Someone informative this sucker.

too bad it isn't a game yet. :( could have been the next best thing, instead it's devoid of any must play aspects. very repititive and boring, it will be a miracle if they change the gameplay and make it work ever at this point.

Those games don't have a monthly fee because they're not persistent. Sure, I'm not defending the game. However, I might be if they'd have released the beta on somewhere other than Fileplanet - the site that guarantees to make you sit a 40 minute queue and then not refresh the page properly as you near your download. Score!
