Also on GameSpy today is this Q&A with author David Kushner, who recently finished Masters of Doom. According to GameSpy this book "chronicles the story of John Carmack and John Romero from their childhood, through their meeting, the creation of DOOM, their split, and their recent work". They also have posted part of the book's ninth chapter.

I'll be ordering this Wednesday. And yes, the author can write - he wrote the DOOM 3 preview in the latest issue of Wired.

I hate to be a "Romero whiner" again - but I've always liked Romero - he's not ALWAYS the smartest but he's passionate about games and seemed a nice guy.

It MIGHT be my imagination but I have a hard time beleiving some of the stuff written in this and it seemed very ass kissy to Carmack and very "Romero is a klutz".

I find it hard to beleive Romero's that bad..... I really do.

Should be an interesting read given what I read on gamespy. I just hope the author can write well. Long book about gamers badly written might be a tad taxing to the old noodle.
