Splinter Cell Q&A

8

The guys at Gamer.nl have posted a Q&A with Mathieu Ferland, who was the senior producer of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. Mathieu is asked what Ubi Soft was shooting for when they started development of the game and how movies and other games influenced Splinter Cell, differences between developing for PC and for Xbox, the fact that the main character is American, the importance of stealth, downloadable content plans and more.

Forget about content, they need to fix their bug ridden POS game first. If you turn on AA/AF the lighting screws up and goes right through the walls (making them insanely bright)--the problem isn't limited to radeons either, people on their official forums with geforce cards seem to be having similar issues and/or crashes.

      "yet"

Hopefully that means they're not sure yet and until they are they may as well say "no plans for pc" in case that makes someone buy the xbox copy?

Where there's a modder, theres a way. We the PC users will make our own content if we come to that road.

Assuming there any good modders left that haven't been hired yet?...

They aren't releasing the modding tools/editor. So people won't be able to make splinter cell maps. But I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to rip the xbox live ones somehow. Remember those q3 maps on the dreamcast?

That has never stopped people from modding PC games.
