what about CT Weapons set bug..when you go T you cant take T rifles..So you are stuck with shotguns or smg..

The game is awesome!!! I just downloaded it rite now!! The shield is very powerful but some guns can penetrate such as the Galil, all u need is to aim thru the window and u can get headshots. But if u had an army of 7 riot shield holders and ppl with good guns, you can ezily win the game. Check it out. It's worth it.

Anyway, I'm excited about it... the new riot-shield sounds cool. I wonder how well it is going to work though... not many people use the small-caliber weapons... most people use the rifles... so if I'm still taking 10-15 damage per bullet while using the shield, it's worthless.

FAMAS = more powerful but slower p90?

Soooo wasn't there supposed to be an m60 that got more accurate the longer you fired? That sounded like a really good idea...

Prediction for new weapons and shield:

They will either suck badly like most of the newer weapons have or be godly and get nerfed to the point of sucking.

New Weapons and a New Item
Two new weapons will be included in Counter-Strike 1.6. They are from the upcoming Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. Thanks to computergames.ro for the info!




Galil (Terrorist Only)

Manufacturer: Israeli Military Industries
Cost: $2700

Overview: Israel made this weapon to compete with the AK-47 on the battle field. Currently the Israeli's "official" weapon, this weapon holds 32 5.56mm NATO rounds, compatible with the M4A1. Gearbox describes the weapon as like the AK, only heavier and thus more accurate. This weapon has been seen near the end of the movie The Way of the Gun.

Fusil Automatique, Manufacture d'Armes de St. Etienne (FAMAS) (Counter-Terrorist Only)

Manufacturer: Groupement Industriel des Armements Terrestres
Cost: $2500

Overview: Designed to rival the Terrorist's powerful AK-47, this weapon is known from its role in Metal Gear Solid. It will cost less than the M4A1 and its alternate fire will be burst fire (a three-round burst). A three-round burst fires three rounds faster than the auto-mode can fire the same amount, but has a delay between bursts. This is the official weapon on the French GIGN and will likely play that role in the single player side of the game. It holds 25 5.56mm NATO rounds per clip (the same round that the M4A1 uses). It's supposedly fairly accurate and powerful. Nice combination.

Ballistic Shield IIIA (Counter-Terrorist Only)

Overview: This item will block small arms fire (pistols, shotguns, sub-machine guns) and slow down high-caliber rounds to a point where they're not as deadly. The shield will take a primary weapon slot and will be bundled with the FN FiveseveN pistol. The shield will usually cover the front of your body while you peer through the small window, but when you move to fire your pistol, the shield will be moved to the side.

This is the first time since November, 2000 that new weapons are being added to Counter-Strike. Please note that the prices mentioned above may not be the actual prices once CS 1.6 is released.

Misc Fixes
The new version of Half-Life will fix a long standing bug regarding sound. If you lose focus of the HL window (say ICQ pops up, or something), you lose sound. In the next version of HL, sound will automatically return. A four year old bug being fixed is quite remarkable!

blah, no mention of the radar bug getting fixed!

The server is hammered all to hell. If anyone manages to get through, please do us a favor and repost the changes to these comments.

I think the new riot shield and other additions will greatly help the game. I can't even imagine the number of people that are gonna be playing this. I quit CS a long time ago, but now that the gameplay is getting an upgrade, i'm all over it.
