As the leader of the resistance, you'll lead a group of NPC teammates through Territories in the former United States and in the Far East.  You'll be able to give your teammates orders, or with their advanced AI, they will be able to fight on their own and help you take down the corporations...and you're gonna need their help.  You'll also have 40+ weapons ranging from knives, pistols and assault rifles to broken bottles, particle laser rifles and telekinetically controlled Rat Bombs.  The future's a scary place, but your resistance could be the beginning of a full-blown revolution...if you play your cards right.
