u know, when i started into the online gaming ecene, quake1 was the bomb w/rune quake and capture the scragg, man if it wasnt for quake i probably wouldnt have gotten interested in pcs. then came quake2 ...dm was pretty cool and ctf was the mod of choice and heavy weapons factory (ithink thats what it was called). now quake3 i liked and i actually got really into it when i played it online w/my dreamcast and when i got the dcmap pack. but i never saw a mod that captured me like the previous did. oh well back to sof2

Where was this patch at back in 1999/2000 when we needed it more then we do now?

well i reinstalled quake 3 for the 50th time, oh man the great memories!!!!
hopefully i get my touch back after a couple hours of playin.
might i add, rocket luanchers and rail guns so pwn any of the real guns in sof2.
should i bother installin team arena or doesn't anyone play that anymore?

This is good news. I play Quake3 every night and it just never gets old for me. It's always exciting and it gives me a rush everytime I play it. The other night I got on an instagib CTF server and had a blast there. I sure wish more people would play the game, it's a damn fun game. But the game still lives, as well as Quake2, I have no problems finding servers for both. Hopefully same goes with Quake1 which I will try tonight. You get in and start fragging, who can ask for more? I haven't noticed any cheating, but I do often question to myself of some players that get insane scores.

I've gone back to playing this game a whole lot.
I noticed a few people shooting me dead-on mid section with rocket launcher while jumping/dodgeing which is suspicious due to the frequency. I hate to call people out as cheaters because there's always somebody a hell of a lot better then you think you are out there... Fortutantly I still ping to 50+ servers at less then 80ms so have no problem just quitting and finding another site..

You may call it "not a game", and whine about id Software doesnt make games... but i cant tell you how much my friends and i played the LEAKED unofficial quake3 test when it was all over IRC.... we played that extreme work in progress like it was a game :P

Now thats dedictation, hehe..

By the way, everyones forgeting the REAL BEST level... its test_bigbox.bsp or whatever it was called ;)
