Quake3 Rally Released

The mod that you thought would never come out, Quake3 Rally, has been released. They had an official page that you might be able to get to one day, but currently it's totally swamped. Luckily I grabbed the file for mirror here on Fileshack courtesy of Speakeasy for you guys. Here's the feature list straight from Richard:

Click to enlarge- 6 maps - 7 cars - all new menus. all new physics. all new models. new powerups. fancy shmancy client side prediction all updated to handle models with wheels and not legs (that's why this thing took so long, our models don't have legs!) - full online play, deathmatch, racing deathmatch, straight racing, demolition derby, capture the flag. - although maps aren't necessarily tweaked for all gametypes. - cars ffs! ;)

  • I want to like this mod. The team did a great job, and I know they put forth a lot of hard work, but there are serious issues.

    Textures flash and disappear. One time, I saw a car with no top. It was just wheels.
    Sounds, or the lack thereof, are hurting this mod's potential. The physics are definately better than Quake Rally or Q1, but the damage model needs to be changed or tossed. It's too easy to damage your car, and it's not easy enough to whip around corners (even when you are breaking). I want to like this mod, and the initial maps are fun. I hope that the team can find some time to improve upon it.
