We also recently heard about a new Grand Theft Auto being in development, rumored by some to be a massively multiplayer game. Now according to Gamers.com (thanks Gargy), the game will be called Grand Theft Auto: Miami. Take 2 also reaffirmed that a PC version of GTA3 is on the company's spring/summer release schedule, though the Xbox version was not mentioned.

You guys obviously haven't played GTA, the original, which had a Miami-like city... If I remember correctly, you get to it after completing Liberty City.

Whoa, how could you leave this tidbit out?

Interestingly enough, the company is not factoring the release of the much anticipated Duke Nukem Forever into its guidance for its fiscal year 2002, which ends on October 31. Translation? Take-Two does not count on this game shipping before that date.

Doh!

Sure it's conjecture, but hey that's all we have these days.

Half the fun of GTA3 is using the excellent PS2 controller to control it all. PCs just aren't made for such games (unless you want the hassle of getting a game controller and trying to get USB working with it and all the other bullshit hassles it will create (thanks Windows).

Basically GTA3 is a $350 game to me - you need a PS2 to enjoy it.

ps - did the PS2 ever drop to the $230 price it equivalently sells for overseas? If not I may just have to import myself a Japanese one on the cheap (probably like $100) through one of my sources.

the similarities to Scarface are going to be even more than ever in this one. I mean in GTA3, there were tons. (music, story themes, lines...)
