Metroid Prime Shots
by Maarten Goldstein, Jan 14, 2002 6:56pm PSTThough Cube.IGN gave us a scan of two screenshots from Nintendo Power back in December, three non-scanned shots of the upcoming Metroid Prime have now surfaced at Computer and Video Games. There's one third person and two first person shots. Update: ok so those shots are actually from this Nintendo page where they have a bunch more shots.

I'm not ruling out that it may in fact be a very good game, but I think those people who are expecting it to be the Second Coming of Super Metroid may very well be disappointed. I'll listen to reviewers, and give the game a shot when it comes out, then decide.

Yea, until we found out it was an FPS.
Metroid has long been worshipped as one of the finest SNES games ever created, and news of Gamecube update of the shooter provoked nothing short of hysteria in the American press last year. New shots of Metroid Prime, the Retro Studios extension of the sci-fi blaster, emerged today, likely to have Nintendo fans the world over on their knees and weeping.
