Blues News received a press release from BioWare, indicating that the Canadian game developer has ended its ties with Interplay due to breach of contract by the publisher. This does not effect development of Neverwinter Nights and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic.

You guys are overlooking the most potentially serious ramification of this announcement: Bioware does NOT have the rights to the Forgotten Realms D&D license.

Regardless, I'm also considered as what this bodes for the future of D&D games from Bioware.

So who will publish NWN? I assume Lucasarts is publishing the Star Wars RPG... I'm glad that bioware is in a position to entirely fund NWN itself (as I believe they have) instead of having to rely on publishers (like Interplay). There are only a lucky few who can do this... id, 3DRealms, Bioware etc...
