Intel 1.2Ghz Celeron Out

Intel today announced the release of the 1.2Ghz Celeron, one-upping AMD who just brought their Duron budget CPU to 1.1Ghz. The new Celeron is based on 0.13-micron process tech and is priced at $103 in thousand unit quantities.

Well, this thing shouldn't perform much differently than a P3 since it has a full 256k of on die cache, and if the processor can take it, you may see a 1.6ghz celer*hack, cough p3*on (12*133), which in my mind, might be worth trying to do.

  the Celeron 1.2Ghz runs on a 100Mhz FSB, so it's quite significantly slower than a 1.2Ghz P3. HOWEVER... : Toraz Chryx
