Question about Castlevania:

I think when I had the Castlevania for the fatboy, it had that annoying as hell thing when where you got damaged you were "bounced" backwards. I was wondering if this new Castlevania has this annoying gameplay feature made famous by Ghosts 'n Goblins? =)

I'm impressed. I HATE-HATE-HATED my GameBoy Color (and every other variation of a GB system) yet I've humped my new system twice already.

Tony Hawk 2 - Isometric view was a little awkward for a few minutes, but I've been playing it nonstop for about 2 hours... well, only stopping to play ChuChu Rocket. Controls are the biggest drawback IMHO - I find it a little too hard to pull off simple kick-flips and grabs compared to the DC/PS versions ... but it's a fucking handheld -- still a great game


Chu Chu Rocket - If you played the DC version and liked it at all, you owe it to yourself to buy this game... linked it up with a friend already and it was a blast.

Overall, system is sweet... got a worm light for it too (nasty glare, but better than nothing) and i'm really happy. Just thought I'd share... please excuse the horrible sentance structure and spelling.

Just got back after managing to score a GBA @ Toys R' US (pretty lucky).

$99, but I'll just use price protection on my Amex and get the $10 back so np.

Only managed to pick up Castlevania at EB (traded in Team Arena and B&W for $22 off heh) as well as a wormlite.

So... is thing about more or less powerful as a super NES? The screenies look 16 bit.

The GBA rocks. I've been playing F-Zero and SMB2(both are amazing ports) on my import system for about a month now. GREAT games, it's been so long since I've played 2D console games, and have forgotten how great, good 2D gameplay can be.

I picked up Castlevania yesterday at Best Buy($5 off this week) and the graphics are unbelievably sharp. Gameplay is practically the same as Castlevania:SOTN. I also picked THPS2(again $5 off this week), my god this game is addictive. Didn't get any work done today, just couldn't put it down. That said, I can't compare it to the PS/DC versions b/c I haven't played them.

In summation, get a GBA. Worth every penny.

Well, I went over to Toys-r-us and they have been selling them all day but ran out before I got there(except for reserved units).

So I went to the evil BestBuy and they wont sell them until wednesday, although the pimple-faced geek clerk told me they had more than their pre-ordered units and if I waited in line for an hour or two on wednesday I could get one. I told him I wouldn't stand in line for two hours for a blowjob from Britney Spears, hehe.

Maybe I will try EB tomorrow... I don't mind getting the bundle since I will want all that crap anyway.

Damn.. if you want the AC adapter (to play without using batteries) it will cost you $20! That's crazy... The gamelink (for multiplayer) is $10. And the carrying case another $20-$30! So $100 for the GBA. $60 for accessories. $35 for a game. After tax you're looking at $200+ for this thing! I mean I do want one and all but after weighing all the costs it's hard to justify spending all that money on one.

I made the mistake of preordering a GBA and games from buy.com instead of just reserving a system at EB or Toys 'R Us. Anyway, I get an e-mail from buy.com 2 days ago saying they are low on stock or something like that and it may be a while until I get my system. After seeing that nothing had shipped out today, I cancelled my preorder. Glad I wasted my time with that.. :\ Next time I'll be sure to just go to a local store instead.

on a side note,
i saw the dreamcast with two different boxes, one white and the other black/blue. what is the difference between the two?

I've had one of these bad boys since the Japanese release (I'm impatient, ok) and they rock. Bypass the Mario game (and wait for Super Mario World when it's released) and go straight for F-Zero. God damn that game kicks ass.

I reserved it from WalMart (they still had them left to reserve) so I have to wait till Wednesday. But, I don't really care, since I'm saving money since their 10 bucks less at WalMart (albeit 2 days later). I'm trying to decide on the game to get...anybody have Castlevania:COTM, how is the control...is it as good as the old SNES castlevania or the Genesis Bloodlines Castlevania, or is it crummy like most of the Gameboy castlevanias (haven't checked out that one for the GBC, but it looks about the same). I'm looking forward to several of the games coming out: hope konami does a new Contra for it, and Enix does DW4-6 (we never got 5 or 6 in the US) on it :).
